Happy November! It's been quiet the weekend, Halloween, turn the clocks back.... full moon.... as you read this I'm on my way to quilt retreat, driving along with my bestie. I'm going to pick up a HUGE vanilla latte for the drive there. Going to a new place I've never gone to before with girlfriends from my quilt guild. I'm looking forward to the mini vacation. I've packed my bag with comfy clothes, I spent time this week designing and precutting projects. I stocked the fridge for hubby and got a huge project done ...

Happy October! The leaves are turning here in Minnesota and it is stunning. Hubby and I are looking forward to a weekend up north in a week. It'll be fun to go to the northern shore of Minnesota and walk some of the trails. It'll be a nice getaway from our work at home life. We look forward to the change of scenery even though I do believe we will miss the fall colors peak up north, oh well. I have been enjoying the change of season so it is fitting that this month's block is a ...

Happy September everyone! I'm a bit slow to get this posting up since we just got back from a family vacation. It was the last hurrah for this summer. We had beautiful weather and it only rained overnight and was sunny the next day, perfect! I enjoyed playing cards and relaxing while the guys went out fishing. I was amazed how quickly our vacation flew by. It was hard to pack up and come home, we had such a relaxing, fun time with our family. I'm already looking forward to next year!

Happy August! This month's block features flying geese. Flying Geese are one of my favorite quilt blocks to make. You can make your blocks using all the same fabric or you can switch it up and make it scrappy. It's totally up to you! I've named this month's block, Fly Away Home. 

After you download the this month's pattern and cut out all of your block pieces, it's time to start stitching your Fly Away Home blocks.

Draw a diagonal line on the back of B squares.

With right sides together, align 1 B ...

Happy May Day! Things are greening up here in Minnesota and I'm dreaming of warm days spent in my garden. I've made a big ol' list for the greenhouse and have started seeds here at home. I'm quite proud of myself for keeping them alive so far! I invested in some grow lights and it seems to be making all the difference. I started seeds at the beginning of the whole 'lock down' thing with the help of Amazon. I sorta went into prepper mode thinking what if this lasts longer then we ...

I can actually relax if I'm quilting and listening to an audiobook. I'm sure I'm not alone! Many of us have been busy making facemasks, working on UFO's and actually completing them! I've enjoyed seeing the postings of last year's BOM completed by many quilters over the last couple weeks. It warms my heart to see finished quilts. This ...

The Grandma's Attic BOM will begin January 15th and then the 1st of each month after that. There will be a new block design each month for a total of 12....  it will be a traditional sampler quilt. I'm planning it as a stash buster. It's based on two colors, a main color and a white/cream background color. You can choose any color for your main color, blue, red, green, anything....I'm making mine out of red fabrics. I have a lot of red Civil War fabric on hand, so that is ...
